Credit scores are horrible. Really horrible. Eviction histories, repossession of the vehicle is on the credit report. no car. No personal phone/cell phone. No home. And is that easy to get the minority small business loan to open the group home for the youth? What is the qualification for the minority small business loan? I really want to know in detail.

I’m talking about the 5 or 6 digit numbers that can be used to text a business, so a phone number is not given out.

What you’re speaking of is a short code. There are "shared" and "dedicated". Dedicated start at 15k and top out around 30k per year. They also take up to 60 days to set up.

If you get a shared one which is the cheapest option. Try TextMarks or Mozes.

Do remember though that you must “Agree not to transmit political marketing (news is acceptable), religious, pornographic, prostitution/escort, gambling, hate, alcohol or drug related content." Yet Playboy has one and there’s a couple church ones too.

Also, you’ve go to remember mobile campaigning is only going to get stricter. You may just want to get a cell phone with a data only plan and a dedicated custom number that’s witty or easy to remember.

No, I’m pretty sure you don’t have to. The phone company just markets a small-business phone package that would have extra features like voice-mail and multiple lines, hence the higher price.

Me and my dad are starting an internet business selling used horse tack. We were wanting to make this into a small business. We live in the state of Missouri and I was wanting to know what we had to do to make it to where we were considered a small business and could write off cell phones for calls and to check internet on our phones. Thanks for all the help.

you can operate as a sole proprietorship and try to keep track of when you used your cell phone for work and when for personal, but what i would suggest is incorporating, to do that, what you need to do is consult with an accountant to determine what type of corporation you should form (my guess is it will be an ‘S’ corp), then you will have to have a lawyer draw up all the paperwork. You will easily spend $750 just for these consultations. Despite that, you really should incorporate, it can provide excellent tax breaks that will not only benefit your business but your personal finances, it also makes things "cleaner" and if you were ever audited by the IRS, it’s easier to prove what is what. on top of that, if your business starts generating serious revenue, you’ll just about have to incorporate anyways.
